Give! Campaign: Look What the Cat Brought In Featured on Fox21 News

Fox21 News Colorado Springs Colorado Gives Campaign

As the Give! Campaign comes to a close, we were honored to sit down with FOX21 reporter Krista Witiak to share the heart of Look What the Cat Brought In and the cats who make our work so meaningful. Our Executive Director, Jennifer Nosler, and Shelter Manager, Dylan Zayas, had the opportunity to talk about why our mission matters and how our shelter serves cats with special and complex needs throughout the Pikes Peak region. Founded in 2008, Look What the Cat Brought In was created to help cats who need more time, medical care, and patience than many traditional shelters are able to provide.

More than half of our annual budget goes directly toward medical care. From surgeries and diagnostics to long-term treatments and daily medications, we invest heavily in helping each cat reach a place where they can thrive in a forever home. We were especially proud to be joined by Tallulah during the interview. Tallulah is living with FIV, a condition that still carries a lot of misconceptions. Her presence helped us show that with proper care, cats like her can live full, happy, and healthy lives—and make incredible companions.

The interview also gave us the chance to share an exciting new project close to our hearts: Wingman’s Great Adventure, a children’s book inspired by rescue, friendship, and second chances. The book is available on Amazon, and every purchase helps support the care of cats like Miss Tallulah who rely on us every day.

Look What the Cat Brought In is a limited-admission, adoption-guaranteed shelter. That means every cat who comes through our doors is given the time, medical attention, and compassion they need—no matter how long it takes. We are deeply grateful to everyone who supports us through the Give! Campaign and beyond. Your generosity makes stories like these possible.
