About Us

Look What the Cat Brought In exists to care for cats that require longer shelter stays than a traditional shelter can provide, securing adoption when each cat is healthy and emotionally ready.  2013, a third of the cats we rescued came from extreme hoarding situations.

Mission:

To help cats enjoy life in good health without pain, in permanent homes and with freedom from uncontrolled reproduction.

We were founded in 2008 to find loving homes for cats who otherwise would not, by giving them a chance at our shelter.  We were the first shelter in Colorado Springs serving cats exclusively. We are proud to be a limited admission, adoption guaranteed shelter.

Our cats come from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, from the City of Montrose Animal Control Facility, Second Chance Animal Rescue Foundation in Lamar Colorado, Lucky Paws in Arvada, Colorado, City of Concordia Kansas Animal Control, Hearts United for Animals in Nebraska, Laramie Peak Animal Shelter in Wyoming. We also take private surrenders, but our priority is to retrieve cats from shelters where the live release rate is less than 90%.
